Many operations require audio information to be combined with its corresponding video information into a single signal.  Many other operations and equipment require that they be kept separate.  IQ Modular offers an extensive choice of multiplexers and demultiplexers for use with SDI signals.

The range of embedded audio modules encompasses different numbers of input channels, and the choice of AES/EBU digital or analog audio formats.  The IQMUX60/61 multiplexer can even handle a combination of AES/EBU and analog signals.

The multiplexers and demultiplexters are capable of dealing with existing audio, which may be reassigned to another group within the signal. All units may be cascaded to insert or extract more channels.

Remultiplexing is a term used to describe the capability to multiplex and demultiplex audio signals on the same module ideal for audio break-out and wrap-around applications.

Often during system design the requirement to multiplex or demultiplex audio is not known until late in the project, causing last minute changes to equipment orders and possible delays in implementation. To help simplify this Snell has produced a module that allows its AES/EBU audio inputs and outputs to be configured by the user.
