Decoders
With the increased use of digital processing - digital transmission in particular - there has never been a greater need for top quality decoding.
Much of the archive material that will be used to provide content for the increasing number of services is still stored in composite form. Many service providers still rely on composite feeds for much of their programming. Unless these are decoded to the highest possible standard, the full potential of digital signal paths cannot be realized. Worse still, composite material that is poorly decoded for digital transmission will result in significant wastage of valuable bitrate.
Based on the company's many years of experience developing world-leading decoder technology, the IQ modular range combines decoding with other harmonious functions to provide cost and space efficient advanced composite decoding solutions.
The IQDEC range provides very high quality decoding using multi-aperture spatio-temporal filters, including analog audio embedding and auxiliary SDI input options. Features include adaptive frame/line comb decoding, frame synchronization and noise reduction.
Encoders
In an increasingly serial digital world, a lot of equipment remains that is composite or analog, or both. Composite analog remains by far the world's most widely used transmission format. There is thus still a need for high quality encoders to convert component signals into composite format.
IQ Modular meets this need with a range of encoders designed for a wide variety of system needs. Modules available include encoders for PAL, NTSC and SECAM operation in multi-standard format. Broadcast quality versions feature 12-bit oversampling digital to analog conversion for superb accuracy. Other facilities available in the range include full genlock control, frame synchronization, gamut limiting to prevent illegal color, and a choice of composite outputs and serial component outputs.
