RollCall Control and Monitoring Overview
RollCall Control and Monitoring Overview
Overview
The RollCall system provides control and monitoring capability for elements of the Snell product range with the addition of monitoring of third party equipment via SNMP, serial or GPI interfaces, where such equipment forms part of the system infrastructure. Examples of such devices include video servers, signal routers, character generators, display systems, power management etc.

Benefits
- Cost effective
- Totally user configurable
- Scalable & proven
- Configurable alarm management
- Native SNMP control support
Applications
The RollMap application is able to satisfy the requirement of linking in other element managers to provide a logical, signal path centric workflow model of the facility, with access to all control subsystems from one ergonomic interface. RollMap is also able to operate as a sub system, reporting to a higher-level element manager via SNMP.
RollCall offers flexible control and monitoring network transport options, including:
-
Deterministic networked control response;
-
Industry standard Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP; and
-
Dual Network connections to each enclosure for redundancy as standard
As such, Snell offers the combined benefits of its deterministic RollNet network solution with industry standards such as Ethernet/SNMP. By utilising both network transports in the same system, a unique redundant architecture can be achieved at very low cost, which is resilient to network failure, ensuring no loss of control functionality.
The Snell IQ Modular 3RU & 1RU Chassis support native SNMP control, which is suitable for control requirements from third party systems; Ethernet / SNMP are fitted as standard.
