Planning & Business Analytics

To make the most of your media assets and maximise ROI, it is important to both understand the processes involved and be able to manage and adapt them.  Momentum Planner allows real-time management of human and technical resources, giving you the control to prioritize projects according to changing circumstances.  It is even possible to simulate scenarios without affecting on-going processes until the effects of such changes are known and understood.  In combination with Business Analytics it is possible to optimize your processes with a complete understanding of the operational, business and financial implications.   

Workflow Management & Automation

Workflows are designed, controlled and monitored via graphical representations making it easy to understand your processes, monitor their status and take action if required, based on automatically generated reports and notifications regarding process status.  It is even possible to delegate repetitive and well defined tasks to Momentum, automating events and control of third party applications or devices, as required by the processes.

Ingest & Quality Control

Momentum can acquire content from many sources including VTRs, cameras, live feeds and watch folders, automatically extracting and handling metadata, before intelligently supervising file storage across diverse service architectures.

Momentum QC performs simple, cost effective quality checks for black, still or blurred frames according to pre-defined configurations.  Quality control can be extended to be more sophisticated by integrating with third party QC applications such as Tektronix Cerify, Amberfin iCR, Venera Technologies Pulsar and Interra System Baton.

Cataloging 

The ability to find the right material quickly and easily is imperative and is facilitated by effective content genealogy tree management, customizable metadata sets and federated search techniques.

Editing

A user-friendly, timeline based interface with separate video, audio, text and graphics tracks, allows for fast and simple cut editing either on-line or off-line. This can also be done collaboratively.  For more exotic editing, Momentum integrates with many editing applications, including Final Cut, Premiere and Avid.

Transcoding

Media files can be transcoded from any format, to any format, using either the Momentum Transcoder or by integrating with third party transcoders such as Amberfin iCR, Harmonic Rhozet CC, Grab Networks Anystream Agility and Telestream Flip Factory.  It is even possible to perform aspect ratio conversions, up/down/cross conversions or standards conversions, all under the control of Momentum workflow management.

Delivery

At the end of each workflow process there is normally a delivery, which will be handled by the Momentum workflow and reported back for the purposes of job tracking and for input into business analytics.

An ever increasing volume of content and the increasingly complicated delivery of content over multiple platforms, each requiring their own formats and associated metadata, mean that new methodologies need to be employed to govern the delivery mechanisms, in an efficient and cost effective way.
