Snell’s Momentum™ and Vega™ Both Earn Top Accolades at the 2012 NAB Show

Momentum MAM and Workflow Automation Solution Wins TV Technology STAR Award and Vega Routing Platform Wins Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award

READING, U.K. — April 26, 2012 —Snell today announced that Momentum™, the company's new solution for media asset management (MAM) and workflow automation, earned a TV Technology STAR (Superior Technology Award Recipient) Award at the 2012 NAB Show. In addition, Snell's Vega™ routing platform earned a prestigious Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award.

The TV Technology STAR Award is designed to celebrate and showcase the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. The Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award is given in recognition of the innovative technology developed and shown at the NAB Show.

"This recognition from key members of the broadcast trade press highlights the tremendous value that our new Momentum solution and Vega routing platform can bring to broadcast and media companies. Momentum solves the complex workflow challenges of 'TV Everywhere' delivery to the full range of distribution platforms and consumer devices, and Vega offers unprecedented capabilities for configuring the number and type of signal ports required," said Neil Maycock, chief architect at Snell. "The Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award highlights Vega's first-of-a-kind versatility and configuration flexibility, which enables users to employ ports most cost-effectively according to the demands of the application. The TV Technology STAR Award reflects Momentum's ability to aggregate MAM, workflow automation, and resource management for all elements within a production workflow."

Momentum's powerful workflow tool enables users to easily create and manage complex digital media production, repurposing, and publishing workflows without customizing the system with scripts or bespoke code. This dramatically reduces the total cost of ownership and allows users to adapt and optimize their infrastructure to meet changing business requirements.

The Vega routing platform allows users to configure any signal port independently for fiber or coax (copper) connectivity, and to configure any signal port as either an input or output. Vega provides the industry's most flexible asymmetric routing solution within a space-saving 2-RU 96-port or 4-RU 192-port router.
